About the cards......

   
    Over the years, receiving a card from another woman in the program has meant the world to me. Perhaps it was slipped to me during a meeting, just when I needed a ray of hope or a bit of guidance.  I received such a card thirty years ago saying, "Diane, get over him, and get into the now." Of course, she was right. Today, I don't remember him in the least, but I do remember the lesson - get back into your life!  Even in today's high-tech world, cards endure, where text messages and e-mail don't.

    During my morning mediation a year or so ago, I began on a creative journey when I got this message: "Paint 100 Angels."  I've lost track of how many angels I have painted since, but I've enjoyed dreaming up each and every one. For me, realizing my creative ideas has been one of the beautiful gifts of sobriety.  

    My hope is that you will enjoy these cards as much as I have and slip one to a woman who's especially in need of a lift, a kind word, or congratulatory wish.  I always carry a few in my purse and have them ready--for a friend who announces her birthday at a meeting or a new member of the program who's still struggling.
